Noted. I’ll make the changes in due course. For speed the template was developed from an existing template, so their are a couple of hangovers from that, such as date and sidebar issues.
FYI - The copyright year at the bottom of the sidebar is wrong: 2007 instead of 2008.
Sam, a few suggestions: 1. Can the header be linked to the blog home page? 2. Can we display a list of other Feba blogs in the side panel? 3. Thought about a ‘tag cloud’? 4. Meta links - any way these can appear in the side panel when a blog admin is looking at the page? I am also interested in your view on what is better to encourage: tags or categories?
It appears the clock has to be set on every blog to the correct time!! Yes a more general header would be good. I’ll get in touch with the “legal dept.” about the footer note. (If only!)

      Thanks Brian… post corrected.
Yes, this is indeed great news for Nepal! Thank you for sharing it. Just a point of clarification though, did this broadcast occur on Saturday, 14 June or Sunday, 15 June? It seems your entry above does not accurately match the day and the date according to the 2008 calendar. And in the interest of historical accuracy, it should be recorded correctly, right?
This is great news and a cause for great rejoicing. One down four to follow!

Comments for Bob Bartz: Broadcast Technology Director for Africa
´ve noticed there are a couple of web sites that can do the conversion. Only problem is that one has to type in the data online. Here are the sites: http://www.roadnotes.com/gpscalc.html http://www.csgnetwork.com/gpscoordconv.html Another alternative might be to do this in a spreadsheet. It might be feasible to translate a CSV file directly into the spreadsheet and then calculate.
Bob, Could we have the co-ordinates in the straight Long/Lat format. eg -0.370433, 50.8194 as that’s the form GeoRSS will read, and would save me converting them all from different areas. Many Thanks Sam
Bob, comment re tags: stick with words you would include in a Google search hoping to find this post. I would use (feel free to cut and paste): community radio, community FM, Radio Nuru, Macomia, Mozambique, radio towers, radio masts, steel prices, Telebuild Sam and I will soon discuss adding some better tagging functionality, to make it easier and faster to use tags already added.
Could you add helpful links to your post, for other sources for this kind of equipment, or information about what is involved with dependable, highly portable remote broadcast tools. You should also be tagging your comments.
      This is great news, thanks.
